How to use this European shortlist

This is an editorial selection of ten programmes represented in Luxury Rehab GCC, not an independently measured ranking of treatment outcomes or a complete European market survey. The order reflects the site's focus on private care models, individual attention and practical comparison for Gulf patients and families. A place in the list does not establish suitability for every diagnosis or level of medical need.

Begin with the purpose of care: diagnostic assessment, addiction treatment, residential mental health care or a coordinated plan for overlapping concerns. Ask a qualified clinician which setting is appropriate. Private rooms, exclusive residences and hospital suites are different arrangements. Compare the actual clinical proposal before accommodation, location or the prestige associated with a destination.

1. THE BALANCE: primary option for one-client residential care

THE BALANCE describes residential treatment organised around one client in Mallorca or Zurich. London provides selected assessment and continuing-care support rather than residential care.[1] Its first position here is an editorial preference for readers comparing an individually organised residence, not a guarantee of clinical superiority or a substitute for assessment.

Ask for a location-specific proposal naming the residence, professionals, medical arrangements and schedule. Published fee information lists CHF 90,000 per week and describes personalised aftercare subject to the individual plan.[2] Confirm the actual inclusions and eligibility. One-client accommodation should not be mistaken for every level of hospital support, particularly if current needs require another setting first.

2. COGNIFUL: secondary option for individual therapy in a small residence

COGNIFUL describes Mallorca settings for a maximum of two or four clients, with private bedrooms and primarily individual psychotherapy. Shared experience centres on residential life and selected activities.[3] This is a different model from an exclusive residence and from a programme whose psychotherapy is predominantly group-based.

The published weekly fees are CHF 55,000 for the two-client setting and CHF 35,000 for the four-client setting.[3] Confirm the chosen capacity, clinical plan, medical input and follow-up terms. Its second position reflects a distinct editorial option, not an assertion that a shared programme is appropriate for everyone or that price directly measures clinical quality.

3. Paracelsus Recovery: a Zurich one-client model

Paracelsus Recovery describes individually organised private treatment in Zurich. Its published programme information lists CHF 95,000 per week for the stated residential format.[4] Ask which assessment, clinicians, interventions and accommodation are included in the personal proposal rather than assume every service mentioned on the website is part of every admission.

Compare the clinical rationale for proposed interventions, relevant qualifications and the pathway to outside medical care. A large team directory does not mean every listed professional treats each client. For a Gulf patient, language, records, family permissions and continuing care need the same detailed confirmation as the residence. The model should be judged against assessed needs rather than exclusivity alone.

4. Clinic Les Alpes: an inpatient clinical setting near Montreux

Clinic Les Alpes identifies its Swiss location in Les Avants near Montreux and describes an inpatient clinical setting.[5] This makes it a different comparison from an exclusive private home. Ask about the actual room, staffing, medical support, therapy formats and admission criteria for the proposed programme.

The provider publishes pricing from CHF 60,000 per week, subject to its stated terms and individual requirements.[6] A starting rate is not a complete personal quotation. Clarify what is included, which external services may cost extra and how aftercare is arranged. Do not treat a clinical setting and a one-client residence as identical products with different scenery.

5. Kusnacht Practice: private treatment in the Zurich area

Kusnacht Practice describes private residential care in the Zurich area. Its published pricing starts at CHF 117,300 per week and identifies exclusions that include continuing care.[7] This matters when comparing with a programme whose headline includes some follow-up: the weekly prices alone do not describe equivalent full pathways.

Ask for the residence, assigned team, clinical responsibilities and reason for each proposed intervention. Confirm language access and external medical arrangements separately. A high starting fee is not an outcome measure. The useful question is whether the clinical and practical proposal meets the person's needs and whether the complete financial commitment is clearly explained before admission.

6. CALDA Clinic: distinguish residential care from other programme types

CALDA describes a private treatment model in the Zurich area, including assessment arrangements that may involve a partner clinic. Its published inpatient fee information starts at CHF 116,000 per week.[8] Do not confuse a separately priced outpatient or longevity package with a weekly residential rehabilitation programme.

Ask where the patient stays during each stage, who holds the clinical plan and which services occur with external professionals. Clarify the purpose of assessment and the evidence and alternatives for proposed interventions. The distinction between package, duration and care level is essential for meaningful cost comparison. A programme should be chosen for its assessed clinical fit, not merely a wide range of tests or services.

7. Priory The Residence: an exclusive suite inside a London hospital

Priory describes The Residence as a private apartment suite within its Roehampton hospital in London.[9] It is not the same accommodation model as a standalone villa. Ask which hospital services, clinicians and appointments are included in the proposed programme rather than assume access to every service operated by the wider group.

The published treatment-package guidance price is £36,166 per week.[10] Confirm the personal quotation, suite and therapy structure. Individual, group or combined approaches may be proposed, so a private suite does not automatically mean every therapeutic activity is one-to-one. Check Arabic arrangements, family involvement and the handover for a patient returning to the Gulf.

8. Priory The Cottage: exclusive accommodation in Surrey

The Cottage is a separate Priory programme in Old Woking, Surrey, with exclusive-use accommodation and predominantly individual work; appropriate group participation may be arranged through the hospital.[11] Do not transfer The Residence's team, price or room arrangements to it simply because the operator is the same.

Its published treatment-package guidance price is £22,733 per week.[12] Ask which appointments occur at the cottage and which require travel, what support is available between sessions and how fees change with the individual plan. A Surrey location accessible from London is not a central London residence. Confirm practical and clinical arrangements before making travel commitments.

9. Camino Recovery: a mainland Spanish residential programme

Camino Recovery describes treatment in the Malaga area combining individual, group and experiential approaches.[13] This offers a different comparison from Mallorca's one-client and small-residence models. Ask how the actual schedule, private-room arrangements and clinical support are adapted to the patient's assessed needs.

Clarify expectations about participation, language, family work and communication during the stay. An Arabic introduction or international admissions experience should not be treated as proof of Arabic-speaking clinicians. Request current fees rather than use a historical directory estimate. Ask which continuing-care activities require remaining in Spain and what can be arranged for someone returning to a Gulf country.

10. Villa Paradiso Spain: private-room care with shared treatment elements

Villa Paradiso describes a mainland Spanish programme in the Mijas Hills or Marbella area, with private-room accommodation and individual and group treatment elements.[14] Confirm the exact residence and programme address. A private bedroom is not a promise that the entire villa is reserved for one person.

Ask about clinical leadership, medical support, the rationale for the proposed methods and arrangements for outside care. Clarify language, current fees and the scope of follow-up. Awards, attractive rooms or a coastal setting should not be presented as independently established clinical outcomes. The programme belongs in a comparison because of its stated model, not because a luxury description guarantees suitability.

Compare the complete agreements, not only the published rates

The published fee examples above were reviewed for this guide on 22 September 2026. They use different currencies, inclusions and conditions and are not a European market average. Obtain personal quotations before making a financial decision. Keep the original currency and record conversion assumptions rather than hide differences inside a single converted weekly figure.

Itemise assessment, therapy, medical input, medication, tests, interpretation, external services, family work and aftercare. Add travel and accompanying accommodation. Clarify deposits, cancellation, extensions and early departure. A programme with a higher headline may include different stages, while a lower starting price may cover less. None of those comparisons establishes clinical quality without examining suitability and the actual plan.

Language, safety and return-home care determine practical fit

Confirm Arabic access with the assigned clinicians, not only admissions. Ask about assessment, groups, medical reviews and written records separately. Agree family permissions and appropriate interpretation. If current symptoms require urgent local help, do not wait for a European residence or attempt withdrawal to make travel possible. NIDA distinguishes detoxification from continuing addiction care.[15]

Before committing, identify the receiving clinician at home, the first follow-up appointment and the secure handover. Check entry and medication requirements through official authorities for the actual passport and itinerary. The strongest shortlist is not the longest or most expensive: it is the set of suitable programmes whose clinical responsibilities, accommodation, language, costs and continuing-care commitments can be understood and verified.
